Fitted diapers are an extremely popular option. They do not include a waterproof layer and require a cover, but they are usually extremely absorbent and a popular overnight option. Fitted diapers can be made from a large variety of fabrics, with bamboo, cotton and hemp being popular choices. Usually these diapers are made of many layers of fabric for increased absorbency, which can make them slightly more bulky. However, because they are usually just natural fibers they are very breathable and help to prevent diaper rash. They do generally take a bit longer to dry than a pocket or prefold.

Many people like to pair wool or fleece covers with fitted diapers, as they also allow for breathability. Both of these materials provide the needed waterproofing and are often used for babies with sensitive skin who need breathable materials.
